Yesterday saw some beautiful skiing up on the mountain. Though the snowpack wasn’t in the best condition, the skies were blue and temperatures were warm. The pistes started off quite icy though began to soften up throughout the day, without losing much speed.
This morning we’ve woken up to a few snowflakes falling down in the village, a good indication that more is falling up top. The clouds are hovering just above 1400m, so visibility up at Yamabiko isn’t looking great. Everywhere else is looking good at the moment. We’re expecting between 5 – 10cm today so the pistes should have a nice top up to keep us going. Temperatures aren’t going to be very warm today, but should continue to drop, becoming coldest on Friday at -10°C. We’re expecting light snowfalls for both tomorrow and Friday so we could see some nice coverage by the weekend!
