Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 28th January 2019
Anybody who was on the mountain yesterday knows what a day it was. Pretty epic! It’s almost like today is offering us a little bit of respite and time to recover from all the excitement. That’s not to say that today isn’t a great day to be on Mount Kenashi. The interesting news today is that the forecast shows another big dump coming our way tonight. We’re expecting to wake up to more of the same tomorrow. From there, more than a few centimetres should fall throughout the day. Wednesday is shaping up to be a sunny one before we get steady snowfall throughout Thursday. After that, I think it’s probably too far into the future to be worrying about at this point. We’re having too much fun right now!
So, what are things looking like up top right now?
At 10:00 am today
Temp at the top; -2C
New snow since close; 0cm
Base at the top; 320cm
Weather; mostly cloudy
Still a pretty decent day for skiing and boarding up there. Thanks to the past week we have a base well over three metres and counting. Enjoy the fleeting moments of sunshine today because the snow returns tonight!
