Well, everyone was primed for opening weekend today except for the Baron von Dumphausen who failed to show up with the goodies. There is a reasonable amount of snow on the higher slopes but not near enough to get those lift engines running. Forecast is for some mild falls over the next day or two. Nozawa temps are dropping fast and snow is expected above 1000m tonight and tomorrow – but not much after that. The 9-day forecast is somewhat more hopeful.
