No crowds and mild temperatures today in Nozawa Onsen
After a beautiful past few days, temperatures are warming up and the snowpack is starting to soften in Nozawa Onsen. There’s still some great skiing to be had, though the pistes aren’t as fast as usual.

Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 04 March 2016: Overview
With the sun out again today, it should be another beautiful spring day. Naski, the resort’s mascot was out for a slide again yesterday showing us all how it’s done and you might spot him out there again today. It’s probably best to get up the mountain early while the snow is best and to spend the afternoon having a rest, an onsen, or going for a walk around town.
Spring has arrived in Nozawa Onsen, though our base is still just below two meters and we’re expecting some more snow after the weekend. This weekend is looking fairly warm with a chance of some rain. We’ll wait and see if that eventuates but we’re hopeful that it won’t hit us very hard. We should have some awesome days to come once temperatures cool down next week and snow starts falling.
