Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 23 December 2015
Two sleeps ’til Christmas
Base at top: 50 cm
Temp at Top; -2 Degrees
Base at Uenotaira 45 cm
New Snow since close: 5 cm
Weather; Sun creeping through the clouds
The cool and cloudy conditions of yesterday kept the snow steadily falling at higher altitudes. The base is looking nice and the saplings and grass roots on the slopes have practically all disappeared. We received another 5cm up top yesterday so get out on those groomers for a bit of fresh snow!
Down in the village there was some rain which has unfortunately washed away most of the surrounding snow. Snow should start falling on Christmas Eve though so we’re hoping to wake up to a white Christmas! The snow will continue falling throughout Christmas Day and Boxing Day, being heaviest during the nights.
Hopefully after this dump we’ll be able to ski back down to the resort. Fingers crossed!
