Nozawa Snow Report New Year’s Day 2019

New Year’s Resolution; Ski more, stress less!

Those of us who managed to stay awake until midnight witnessed a great fireworks display over the Nagasaka slope last night.  We happy to report that the action looks set to remain on the slopes into 2019. Current forecasting has a double-digit dump coming our way tonight. Tomorrow and Thursday should see even more snowfall before Friday brings the sun. Beyond that, the snowfall should continue over the weekend. Good things to come, ladies and gents!

At the top of Mount Kenashi this morning;

Temp at top; -3C
New Snow Since Close; 5cm
Base at Top; 220cm
Weather; Sunny (10 am)

We’ve had a 5cm top-up overnight and the sun is shining. Not a bad way to kick-off another change of the calendar. But as mentioned above, there are much bigger things to come tonight. Enjoy your day in the sun today, folks, and get excited for some serious powder to come your way in the early new year. And most importantly – stay safe!

We tend to see quite a lot of families during January. To keep smiles on the faces of the whole family, it’s always a good idea to plan ahead. If you’re visiting soon (or would like to visit in the future) check out our pages for lessons, restaurantsand the ever-popular monkey tour.
